WHAT IS IT? > raising awareness

The Elora Empty Bowls Project is an exciting partnership between local potters, community groups (Centre Wellington Rotary and Slow Food Elora) and soup-making chefs all in aid of charities that fight hunger and poverty.

Potters are often the driving force behind these events, volunteering their time and energy to create soup bowls, which are then exchanged for money in support of local charities. In Elora, opportunities have also been provided to allow residents to learn to make bowls during a MYOB (Make your own bowl) workshop. Bowls created in these workshops are also donated to the project. The Elora Empty Bowls Project coincides with a great fall festival called Sensational Elora - a festival of the senses.

Many thanks to Tuckers Pottery Supply, Pottery Supply House and Cogeco Cable for their support of the 2011 project.

For details on the next event, please visit Sensational Elora for details.

Below are some images from previous year's events, beginning in 2008. Night & Day Studio has been involved since year one!
